This has a fantastic grapefruit zest character on the nose and on the palate with lots of lively, fresh grapefruit tastes. A very stylish wine although some oakiness emerges on the nose with air. The wine’s delicacy complements the food perfectly.
Fresh, clean and lean with a touch of herbal character and green melon on the nose. The wine is crisp and fresh in the mouth. A well balanced interpretation of the unoaked or lightly oaked style. It’s not profound with the snapper but quite pleasant.
Medium peach and lemon nose with good elegance, structure and soft peachy finish. Quite a light, nice perfumed style. Nice with the food but unassuming and straightforward.
A simple wine with some gun flint and reductive characters. Oak is evident, especially on the finish, leaving the palate dry, flinty and perhaps even a little chalky. The palate is improved with the food. Clean and a good match, although not full enough to really carry the flavour.
Quite oaky. Some herbal characters on a lot of gun smoke. Fairly tart, green apple flavours. Medium bodied. The wine became considerably sweeter and more clumsy in the context of the sauce.
A clean wine with good, rich oak and a touch of butterscotch. Very youthful throughout the palate. A little bit of acid there. Not enough mid palate fruit weight and too much acid to be any great bearing on the food at all.
"This label is worth discovering. The 2005 (4½ Stars), predominantly barrel fermented, is fresh, smooth and immaculate, with refined, grapefruit-like flavours and a delicious, creamy texture. An instantly appealing style."
